Huh. funny how things wind up sometimes.
I've been in urgent need of a non-old fast Mac for about two weeks now. I've reluctantly scoured ebay, in hopes of bidding and winning a used G4 to replace my faltering 6 year old G3.
There was one (I thought) last hope auction that was ending tonight, I put in my absolute highest bid, the amount that I could absolutely not go over, and of course got overbid.
I fuigured it was a lost cause, I've never had luck bidding on Ebay before. I resinged and went to a site where I could buy a mac mini. (see, I was hoping to get a tower because I could just pop my harddrive in there and start rolling, with a mac mini I'd have to transfer all my files over and spend a long time burning backups)
Anyway, I was on the mac site, and I decided to just do one last search on ebay. I saw a G4, better than the one I was bidding on, had 7 minutes left, and the STARTING BID (hadn't been bid on yet) was my limit from the previous auction. On a whim I bid, and blam. No last minute bidders to knock me off.
So, I got a new mac. I hope it gets here soon, I GOT WORK TO DO!!!!!
