Three days in Portland, and so far, weather wise, It's almost excatly the same as Syracuse. From the constant overcast skies to the easygoing sometimes-drizzle sometimes-harder-yet-still-light rain.
But what is different? Oh my goodness. I never realised how much Orange and Blue S.U. paraphrenalia I'd see on a daily basis back home. The utter LACK of Orange and Blue items is excellent.
Found a bookstore that was intimidating in size, a place called "Powell". Holy crap, It was astounding. I was hoping to maybe find used hardcover copies of the Neal Stephensons "Baroque Cycle" books, but nay. no used ones. Bleh. I'll have to pay full price when I get around to buying them.
Went thru a few Used CD palces that kick Syracuse's "Soundgarden's" ass. (note: soundgarden does have a better DVD selection though)
Regretfully, I'm told one of Portland's greatest resources is Strip Clubs, which I have NO money for. (I could go to one, but then I woulnd't have any food money left for the week)
Going to go check out the local comic shops either today or tomorrow. That'll be a nice highlight. I love checking out comic shops in other towns. Ther emight not even be anything different or notable in them, they might just be a carbon copy of the ones back home, but I like going to em anyeay.
One other thing, sometime over the next few days is "the Toxic Avenger, the Musi-kill" a musical based on the Toxic Avenger that one of my friends is a part of. Should be a good time.
Woo! rock on peoples
