Well, it's been a more or less pleasent day. Got a lot done.
1) finally made an appointment for my car to be inspected today. AFter Thurs. I won't have to worry about getting pulled over and getting a ticket. got my insurance check mailed out.
2) gave my month and a half notice today. I was able to state my case, and give my reasons for leaving in a clear and even manner. (a minor stutter here and there). It's not the workers, and it's not the work, but the pace and volume of the work that I can't handle. I can't work at a place that stresses me out to that degree.
He tried to convince me otherwise, and I certainly understand his position. He already is losing another worker, and doens't want to lose another. But sometiems you gotta look out for #1. Need a less stressful job.
3) Visited one of my friends from my previous job. Havnen't talked to her in a long time. It was great to see her again. We chatted about the ol place, I told her what I was up to...just had an easygoing chat, with none of those awkward silences. never seem to have those with her. Gave her a lift to work like I used to, and proceeded to
4) Barnes and Noble. Finally picked up my Copy of "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. Can't wait to rip into it. Drew some sketches in the coffee place, came on home.
Annnd...Well, got some lovely cards and well wishes from many peoples today. I heard from My recently married friends who moved to AZ a few months ago, I got a call from TNS, Momma Dukes and Gramma Dukes, (Rock zee fuck on).
I thoguht I could dole out advice that could help one of my friends, but instead tripped over words and churned out the generic drab ole' cliched' "hang in there's". Sometimes the right words just escape me completely. Sorry, Cap'n... Hang, er... uh, well, hang in there.
Well, I think I'm going to spend the rest of the night writing til my hands are worn down to my writsts... then reading American Gods till I fall asleep.
Gotta make the most of days you don't have to work.
Later, everyone...Be well and take care of yourselves!
Oh, and a Special Thanks To Alla Youse for the well wishes! Rock on!
