It is a mixture of a lot of amazing things that sets a tone. I usually hate the summer; it gets me very depressed. All of my Oregon clothes are sweaty and smothery and don't fit with everyone around who is 4/5 naked. The light, which is normally diffused by overcast sky and temperature/humidity, no longer makes things glow. Coffee in the morning is no good. I think of summers spent inside sweating, waiting for the sunburn to go away.
Mostly, it was being a fat kid and having to take off my shirt when it was hot out. There's nothing in the world more depressing than a chubby kid, on the verge of crying, standing on a diving board, sunburned, sweating, with a black t-shirt on because when they get wet white t-shirts show off prepubescent boy-titties.
