new things making life worthwhile:

good coffee, chatting with cole (he's 2-and-a-half), chocolate cigarettes, and the cute owner, all at the St. Francis soda shop.

a stop at rasputin's, during the first lunch break i had in three weeks, to pick up -
erase errata remix record
ladytron, light & magic
the lovemakers
cat power, you are free
interpol, turn on the bright lights

Chocolate cigarettes sound like a good idea. (Do they make chocolate guns too, for the killing part? wink )

The mention of anarchism and a. sharon in your profile reminds me of a dear, recently-reunited-with friend of mine.
criticaloversite:
I saw Interpol live before they released their disc. It was okay...I wasn't at all impressed by the live show, but the cd sounds great. I don't think it helped that they had an awful opening band who's name I can't recall...basically these guys were just noise-makers.

god. i am a depressing little fuck!

well, despite the universal rampant stupidity conspiracy, i am feeling much better, thank you. and FUCK foot doctors!

and the sf independent film festival will be here in four days! i can stop seeing film noir, mass murderers, political documentaries and bad anti-nazi romances, and look at some Art for a bit.

christ! no wonder i've been down!

whatever

doldrums of winter. i am not taking classes this semester as i attempt to find out if i have the add (attention deficit disorder) that runs quicksilver through my family. got to get a nerve removed from my foot so i can walk, bicycle and dance again, but in the meantime, no exercise and anti inflammatories just add to the general malaise. this will go...

Dammit, why does the whole "being friends after dating" never work out? I've tried it three times, and I think it's about to happen again. frown

so, the show will be about converting 2-stroke vespas into 4-strokes, weapons plants into love factories, and americans into canadians.

first, i will need to get a new computer (this one blows).

mine is really just canadian pride. if I were to have a hockey team tattoo, it'd probably be a Bruins one, or just a big number 77 for Ray Bourque. the Avs logo is lame. wink
criticaloversite:
I'm already half Canadian, so does that count?

And all this talk about strokes...hah

By the way, what's the title of the show?

michigan pal critical oversite and i are putting on a show!

i'm stealing ideas from mcqueen and aiofe (who, i intend to convince, need to be on the show), but so far here's what i think it should entail:

converting vintage scooters to 4-strokes and/or snowmobiles in detroit, in our skivvies, (sponsored by vernor's and stroh's,) for the purpose of
a) converting the auto industry...

one more week without smoking.

i'm still nuts. good thing there's such a crazy lot of good films in town now, and the weather's conducive to long scooter rides. solitary pleasures will ensure i don't get arrested for killing anyone while the nicotine dwindles. though i do think i've turned a corner, after yelling at my boss--then apologized the next day. sanity is on the...

Nothing beats a good scooter ride. I just took one last night at about 11:30pm...

Yahoo! Congratulations, I'm very proud of you. Quitting smoking is so hard. You're doing great.

Ryan Adams is dating Parker Posey? Yikes, I am wracked by ambivalence now.

The New Yorker article about Kelly was great. At least, I figure O'Neill isn't really threantened by the slime...
scooter11:
What's worse is that given how much the public is paying attention, they don't even need ot do much. Ugh.

I still think Parker could do better. Or at least she could be dating me. smile
