Im staring at two cranes stretching up into a puffy industrial sky. Traffic is dead-stopped for miles in both directions. Im no one, going nowhere. The person beside me is no one too. He has a nondescript face and is vaguely redneck. He may or may not be smoking a cigarette. I glanced at him and lost interest before I glanced back to the two...

Speaking of Existentialism....

So, I read this after I got home from The Sunset Strip on Saturday, and, since then I haven't had the time to respond.

Whenever I read something like this, it makes me really happy. It makes me really happy when I or someone else notices the small stuff and makes it not so small. And, Steve, I think that you not only notice the small stuff, but you really do report it with such objective-subjectiveness (damn, I can't think of anything else to put it as, but that's what it is, you remove yourself, and then look at it through all perspectives, if you will).

Thanks.
toothless:
Steve,

Having read your stuff, I have hope again. Hope that I can write something again. I used to be knee deep in paper and pens. But now things just don't seem to come as easily.

Not even going back and re-reading some Jack has helped to pull me from these doldrums. But I think that maybe just maybe your May 1st entry will give me a creative goose.

And to Hotpockets, I must say: Thank you for the direct to Steves stuff. You've got a good eye.

Thanks,
Carlos

Physics and Girls! biggrin

It's not the most common combination, but as you know, there is a small probablilty of observing both physics+ and girl+ in the same object. But, most of the time, you'll get the reaction "Physics? I hated physics in highschool" or "Physics? Oh wow."

I dunno.

Yeah, I really need to read more Nietzsche, just because I've read some Kierkegaard, and that makes sense, but time to move on to the bermensch and Good and Evil.

"MAKES ME HAPPY: sobriety MAKES ME SAD: sobriety"
reminds me of:
My friend Aaron: "Alcohol is the cause of and solution to all of life's problems", and (drunk at the time) "You know what goes great with Vodka?" "No, what Aaron?" "More Vodka!" biggrin

we are in a dead zone. culture is fucked and anyone i know with one cell of creativity is bursting blood vessels out the eyes to create. create, create, create! we are bleeding creation from our eyes. are you? if so, share, along with all monies you've earned in the last year of taxable income. seeeeeee here is a not for profit organization. thank you for all kind words but donations are more important.

Its worth it just for the scream. Kid added.

from the new draft, the line was so damn good i had to steal it from your lips the second you uttered it. thank you, if you're offended or anything i'll change it.

Damn, that journal entry was soooo close to making a full year -- I was hoping to set a record among inactive active members (who should be more active), but my exhausted chattiness seems to have gotten the best of me. This here finds me in the middle of the new phase-shift chaos and loose ends that only uncertainty can manifest. Pick your wishes wisely...

well orginally after the first one my intention was to share first drafts of the chapters as they were written. now i'm wriitng it faster than i can post it and i don't thinkk i'll be able to share them one chapter at a time. so maybe when they're finished i'll email it out or post it somewhere. i want to publish a zine out of the story and sell it for like a dollar, no one online will be interested if i let them read the whole thing in serials. oh well, thanks for the interest and kind words.
