That was the maddest weekend I've had for quite some time
We went to see the Levellers on Friday night. I ended the night back at our house, drinking Old Monk rum from India
Saturday morning didn't happen Then, early evening, We went over to a pub run by our good friends Mike and Judy. We'd slyly arranged a birthday doo for my mate Pog (owner of the brown dog in my pics). He knew there was a party, but he had no idea that a couple of us had arranged for Taranrism to play We have friends from all over so it was great for most of our crew to have a gathering and we all got utterly trolleyed
What better way to spend a Sunday than chilling with yer mates, then having a big veggie Sunday lunch
Nice
Wanna know some more abouy India?
Day 2-4.
We spent our time seeing different parts of Mumbia. There are numerous temples all over the city. The one I liked was the temple of Mahalaxmi ( Ithink that's how to spell it). Situated just off a busy mian road it was supprisingly tranquill.
You can look out over the sea from there but don't look too close, the sea is full of shite
One of the main tourist bits is the Gateway to India. Huge great monument it is and surrounded by beggers and peddlars of tat who get right in your face. The only way to stop them is to be really rude and tell them to piss off.
There are shops and markets and bazaars everywhere so you can find most things if you want to. Cheap technology, traditional clothes, food, books, sex, drugs, whatever you want
Some of the places you see are harsh. There is a pool fed by a spring in Mumbai. It's called Baganga tank. Another peacefull place surrounded by small temples and the odd sacred cow (it's good luck to feed them but the keeper will charge you for the grass). To get there though, you have to follow alleyways where people sleep in tin shacks with an open sewer running past. If you think your life is bad, it's trully not.
Other highlights were loads of gorgeous food and time spent with our friends, watching Indian tv. Very unusual.
By this time, we're getting ready to head for the hills.
Sjouldn't be too long till I get more India pics up too
Take it easy
