Lol-Ratatouille
If you're a fan of sites like Cute Overload, you probably like those furry domesticated rats. In any case, my girlfriend has a pet rat named Peeve that she adores. I was recently invited to the DVD release party for the Disney/Pixar movie Ratatouille... and there's nothing more dull than a DVD release party. So to make an interesting story, I thought I'd invite Sally along with her rat Peeve. In fact, I got permission from a Disney publicist to bring a real rat to the party, which was held at some swanky Hollywood club.
Upon arriving at the event, we learned the media in attendance were incredibly bored as they were all waiting for comedian Patton Oswalt, the voice of Remy the rat, to get there. So when Sally and Peeve made their way up the red carpet, they quickly became real stars as photos were snapped (which appeared on WireImage) and the two actually did three TV interviews including one for Spanish-language TV. It was surreal as we ran into Pixar's John Lassetter while Peeve and Sally hit the bar. After snacking for a bit on a wonderful spread of French food, we were informed that having a real rat in such close proximity to the buffet was a health code violation. We were politely asked to leave and upon exiting we actually ran into Patton Oswalt himself. I snapped about 100 photos documenting the event and Sally turned the pics into a Lol-Rats-type of story for Film Threat.
You can read the whole story on Film Threat here, but here's a few photos to amuse you along with a YouTube video in which Peeve is interviewed. Man, the media are so easy to manipulate.
Later,
Chris
