So, in keeping with my favorite things list, I decided to make a blog about my fave TV show and my fave music (at the moment).
Because the first of the final episodes of BSG aired last night, I thought I'd talk a little bit about why this show is so amazing. First of all, those of you in the BSG group who are complaining that the episode sucked and don't want to watch it anymore: YOU ARE SO FULL OF SHIT! You know you're gonna keep watching! You HAVE to know how it ends because you'll never be able to come up with anything so creative in your little pea brains. Thats right. I said it. Get over yourselves. Like HST said, "buy the ticket, take the ride". Enjoy it while you can, 'cause this is it (until "Caprica"). Hehe.
Anyway, back to why its so good. BSG is about characters. The plot follows. Eick and Moore have already claimed to have written most of the series while they were drunk. Frak the critics. I love the fact that they took something so far on the fumes of booze. The greatest pieces of literature were built on character(s). Ask anyone. I rest my case.
As far as music goes, I believe I've found my new Sgt. Pepper. I've been a fan of Dax Riggs since Acid Bath--if you couldn't tell from my minibar sentence--and I've been eagerly awaiting a new album. I was surfing on Itunes and found this album called "Best of Fat Possum".
Its got every major artist from the label, including Dax, and is simply amazing. Every track on the thing is so frakking good. The voices are brilliant, the lyrics are simple AND complex, and the arrangements are mostly delightfully strange. I'll try to edit this a bit after I give it a million hearings, so look out for a fave track list from the album.
Thats all for now, peeps!
