My problems seem pretty insignificant when my South African friends are getting carjacked & robbed at gunpoint.. by policemen, no less. What the hell would you do? Leave the country? What measure of safety actually exists? Are we any different here in Canada, or just suffer a deeper illusion of authority and it's benevolence? Every system in place seems to value the human factor the least. Justice favours the well-connected and those with time + resources to play the game, not the right.

I have a friend & his father in Durban that were carjacked and stabbed and held at gun point and dropped off in the middle of no where. Sad sad stuff
