My friend, McKenna, was a stranger up until a fateful Halloween night in 2018. My awful boyfriend at the time had cheated on me, and I had just found out but he still wanted to go to the party 🙃
I was, obviously, not in the best headspace. So I got OBLITERATED and WASTED. I shouted at him in the middle of the party and told everyone at the party that he cheated on me.
Then I proceeded to get violently ill in the restroom. The entire time, a stranger came to my side. She comforted me, and helped me while I was sick. She reassured me I was going to be okay and told me how much I hadn’t deserved what happened to me.
She had no reason to help me through my messy night, but remained by my side and made sure I got home safely. She proceeded to check on me the next day and we formed a friendship quickly.
She’s one of the kindest, most genuine people in my life. She helped me find the confidence I needed to leave my awful boyfriend and to find happiness elsewhere. She’s one of the strongest examples of women-supporting-women and I admire her so much!
Is there someone who has helped you? What’s the kindest act someone has done for you? 👇
