I ran the Papa Johns 10 Miler today, this is the 2nd time ive run it in the short time ive been running.
It was a beautiful day for the race and a lot of people turned out for it.
Between miles 2 and 4 though I had a real bad pain in my acheles tendon, but I sucked it up and hobbled on. Miles 3 through 6 are in a local park that some very steep inclines and that was really tough since im not used to running on such steep slopes.
Ive made a plan to go there once a week now and train, my goal is that by next year I'll be able to run that portion non-stop with no walking breaks.
I hope I can do it.
My best miles were between 6 and 7.
Mile 9 felt like the longest mile in my life though, it takes you up over a tall bridge into the stadium, but I made it.
My Chip time was 2 hrs 9 minutes, which is 1 minute off my time from last year.
I have to admit Im a little dissapointed, I really wanted to make it in under 2 hours.
But maybe that can be my goal for next year.
I have 3 weeks off now before my last planned race of the year and thats a Mini-Marathon.
It will be the first time I will have run that distance and although Im nervous im looking forward to it.
