I know I don't post much. Very rarely in fact. But, I have to type about it somewhere.
I lost four family members (Two of whom had new born children now fatherless) last night to a drunk driver. Granted, they were cousins and ones I've seen only a handful of times. It's still a little shocking when it all happens at once. Not to mention the domino effect it's having on my family as a whole. Naturally the 20 year old drunk driver going 80+ mph running a red light, hitting and killing four grown men instantly, survived. I believe his passenger also survived.
I admit to being an emotionless person by nature. I'm the last person people should turn to for a shoulder. Nor have I bothered looking for a shoulder when I am down. I will give advice when turned to. It's generally blunt and designed to make the person see it's pointless being depressed. Yet, when it's my own family calling me expecting to hear some sort of sorrow in my voice. I still can't do it. I do my best to be nice and stay out of the way. To me that's the most respectful thing I can do.
Am I being selfish. No. I know full well being around women who all just lost their husbands, and three sons. Is a bad idea. My sisters were closer to my cousin than I ever was. As they are around the same age.
So, in parting I can only say this. I hope to all fate, that son of a fucking bitch has a long long time dying in a painful way. Be it in the hospital, or in prison. And, if he gets away with this crime like so many do. Well, I'll let you all use your imagination.
