Talk about a whole lot of suck. In my family when you do something nice. You generally get punished for it by bad luck. I haven't really figured this out yet. But, for some reason. Anytime I have a project I want to do that makes things either nicer for myself. Or helps out friends. Shit hits the fan.. Or in this case. The roof caves in.
I mean that literally. The ceiling in my den wasn't in the best of shape. Over the last week it's been getting worse. The crack larger, in more places. All that fun sort of stuff. It's been on my to do list for a few months. Mainly waiting on friends that are able to help me fix it. The area in question isn't that small. 12 x 4 section.
Last night while we were still hanging out after gaming. My friends daughter was in the den watching her tweenie shows. When we heard a loud crack, followed by a crash. Then crying. She was sitting in the chair I told her not too. ( Now mind you I wouldn't be surprised if she was egging on the collapse. ) That portion of the ceiling finally gave out and came crashing down. She got hit a little. And a huge section of it was laying in my nice leather chair that she had reclined all the way back. ( Another reason I think she was messing with something. ) I can't see her nearly asleep being able to dodge that without knowing it was coming down.
She's okay though, and now I have no choice but to fix the problem. Only good thing. Earlier in the week I was looking at ceiling panels and they're pretty cheap. Even with the rest of the stuff it'll only cost me 30 bucks maybe. And, whatever else I got to pay to get someone to help me.
When you live in the ghetto.. Everything is jerry-rigged. The ceiling panel as we come to find out. No different.. Wrong kind of board, wrong screws, patch work, not a whole piece. You get the idea.
