Well, just got back from APOP.
Great fucking fun, if you want to see the set list then check out kye's journal it was basically the same but we got two (count em) encores, bitch (well yeah, that was the second encore ) They were also meant to plan mourn by apparently Melbourne wasn't worthy of that much of a second encore.
Melbourne Goths don't really yell out and hoot, its probably one of the many things that makes me a pariah in a scene full of pariahs (I always yell and hoot at concerts, why the hell not) . They played a surprising amount of their older more clubby stuff, which the majority of the crowd (though silent and PVCed) were there to see. There was that definite split between those there for their EBM stuff, and those there for their more future pop stuff, but they were good in all cases.
Great sense of humour, the lead singer looks like a creepier version of Brian Molko from Placebo (with an extra creepy look), but with a great sense of humour and yes the whole scene (well most of it) turned up as they do, for the Goth event, some of us were snubbed, fuckers ohhh I'm so offended the person who had no social status is snubbing me, fuinnily enough one of them tried to pretend it was an accident.
Sorry dude, been around this scene long enough and really I don't care you snubbed me, just don't patronise me you fucking nancy boy .
So yes there were pretty eye candy goths but that's all it was just eye candy. Its depressing the patronising snub twinkie summed it up, Well I've seen VNV and Covenant, I have to see APOP , and he was right, and they were Goooooood, and I second a certain other APOP fan's notion. Huzzah indeed.
P.S Their new t-shirt is like Gangster-Yo.

Have a fantabulous Christmas and all the best for next year Chilung!
So, what do the cool kids in Melbourne do for New Years? It seems to be what is on everyone's mind around me at the moment. Making plans, organising parties etc....
