The Q & A worth every last penny and the movie was surprisingly good. It probably helped been in a room full of Kevin Smith fans but I did spend pretty much most of the movie laughing which surprised me because I did come in with low expectations.
The only low point was the calibre of the people who got up and asked questions. A majority of the people were okay but there always have be a couple of exceptions who dragged it way down. One guy try to have a conversation with him, whilst on bended knee, another guy (drunk as a fucking beached whale), told him he should thank dave and margaret for the fact that he and his friend saw this film 11 years ago. Kevin handled the questions well, regardless of whether they were nerdy, personal or otherwise he fielded them like a pro. He was one charming bastard of a nerd.
A couple of friends of mine have started an around the world in eight weeks saturday dinner thing. We're two weeks into it (Balinese the week before last, Sumatran last saturday). Its been interesting so far, but not because of the food. I feel bad saying this but going into a restaurant with a pack of "white folk" (one guy is jewish, another is eurasian) doesn't seem to help. Spices get reduced, or maybe I just had different expectations of indonesian food. It is considered the most spicy food out there by most south east asians (and most of them eat pretty damn hot).
Running out of cash, going through a flood period in my social life, give it a week and I can gurantee I will be up the creek in a dry patch, completely beached. Going in for the day op, tommorow, almost tempted to post when completely fucked out of my brains after the op. Just to see what I'll write. Just to see whether it'll make any sense after the fact. I doubt it.
