Since you are alive and reading this, you'll notice that I decided not to trigger the Apocalypse. I'm in a much better mood today, mostly because I know I'll be busy driving a ton of miles for the next few days. I'm picking up a load of chemicals going to a final destination in Langley, BC, Canada. I'd like to deliver this myself because I've always wanted to see Vancouver, and Langley is pretty close. The load doesn't deliver until May 7th, so I may just end up dropping off the trailer at the border in Blaine, WA unless my company can arrange for an earlier delivery. I will probably be up in the Northwest by next Monday. I absolutely love it up in the Pacific Northwest. It's just so gorgeous up there, and the people are quirky and unique. If I get my way, someday I'll live in Seattle or Portland. People constantly remind you that It rains all the time up there. You know why? Cuz it's crowded already and they don't want anybody else in on the secret. The mountains are beautiful, the women are hot, the music scene is unparalleled, the micro breweries are unequaled and the restaurants are top notch. In the summer, the temperature rarely gets above 80 and in the winter it doesn't get much below the mid thirties. I like the rain too. Since I have a job that allows (requires) me to travel so much, I would get to drive away from that rain sometimes. When the sun is out, there's nothing quite like seeing the majesty and power of Mount Hood or Mount Ranier, gigantic volcanoes rising up out of the earth, shrouded in white above a lush, emerald green landscape. Hey, I know I let the cat out of the bag, but there's still plenty of space up there if you don't mind paying $350,000 for a small two bedroom house.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to driving out West. The traffic is so much less dense, the scenery is beautiful, and there's no shortage of places to park a big rig at night. If I get a chance, I'll stop in at a Culver's and get a Butterburger and a chocolate malt. Or maybe I'll stop at the River City Grill in Missoula, MT for a sandwich and a slice of fresh berry pie. Whatever is ahead this week, the worry of not making money has been lifted for a time, and I will enjoy my trip. Wish you could come with.
Peace.
