12 Dec 04... Rode my bike down the hill through autumn and cold Japanese businessmen for Tandoori chicken and an Ebisu beer... washed it down with Rento Sho-chu (if you ever come to Japan, have one... no more than one, trust me...) and tried to ignore the fact that the bar I normally love and adore was playing the greatest hits of the Carpenters. But, while I was unable to stop tapping my fingers to the music, I bonded with an older Japanese man... the only words he knew in English were "Kar'penta's good" and my Japanese wasn't nearly up to saying "My Mom always blasted this stuff whenever I'd pissed her off" so I smiled and nodded a lot. Thought about having another Sho-chu on the rocks, but they started playing Santana, which is slightly better. Now, I just need to flesh out the story I sketched in order to justify all the nothing I did today.
