***EDIT*** why did no one say the pics hadnt shown up?? Pictures hopefully added.
Finally. A blog post.
No more excuses, here we go!
I havent been spending a lot of time online due to a) my mother being diagnosed with terminal cancer 12 months ago, b) my dad being diagnosed with bowel cancer 6 months ago, c) wallowing around in a state of mild depression due to the above circumstances and also hating my job on top of this. (Do you realise how hard it is to look after two sick parents when you're been called up to work 60hrs a week, and then be absolutely humiliated when they tell you that after 4 years at the company that youre still not ready to apply for a promotion because the above circumstances may affect how you do your job? Absolute cockwombles.)
But I digress.
Today I shall be sharing with you my favourite moments from 2015. Because what better way to merge an end of year blog with a catch up thats been over a year in the making??
Hold onto your butts...
1) Becoming an auntie.
In July my sister made me an auntie. Little AJ is now 5 months old and the best thing to happen to our family in a long time. Shes such a cutie.
Plus you can make her into the cutest baby burrito.
And, personally I love being an auntie. Shes so much fun.
2) Not one, but TWO engagements.
My sister got engaged last week on Christmas Day after being with her partner for 8 years. So now they can be a proper family.
And.... I got engaged too.
My other half stole me away to the Garden of Oranges in Rome whilst we were on holiday, and proposed during a thunderstorm (it was so romantic!!) On our second day there. Both our families are very happy and i'm stupidly nervous about planning a wedding. But we already have a date and a venue. So...I really need to pull my shit together. Oh, and my engagement ring is the Star Trek symbol.
This is how I know he's right for me. ❤❤
3) Holiday to Rome:
The weather was amazing, the food, the culture, the company. Just amazing.
Saying hi to the Pope. Hey Popey!!
The Pantheon
The Vatican and the Museum.
Sperlonda.
The Garden Of Oranges.
4) Gigs.
I've attended so many gigs this year. Some of my favourites have been:
The Devin Townsend Project at Manchester Cathedral.
Crossfaith at Leeds Stylus.
Skindred at Leeds Stylus.
Coal Chamber at Leeds Stylus.
The Devin Townsend Project at The Royal Albert Hall.
Slipknot/ KoRn at Sheffield Arena.
5)SG haps:
The Ballroom Blitz and the Blackheart burlesque were amazing and it was so nice to see my ladies all in one place.
There was also the weddings of my two friends, Totem and SkyeAnnelise.
I also attended the Shootfest earlier this summer.
I made some wonderful friends and caught up with ladies I havent seen in a long time. It was amazing.
Which leads me neatly on to...
Not one but TWO new sets. The first one of which is out in 2 days. It was shot by @gemmaedwardsuk, entitled 'Summers Ghost' and I had so much fun with this. I've been wanting to work with Gemma for forever and this was another milestone passed. I'm super excited for you all to see it. 😁
My other set, shot by @valo and entitled 'Soraya' will be out in two months.
The contrasts in both these sets is outstanding and I really do love them both.
I hope everyone who follows me here had a lovely Christmas and blazed in 2016 safely and happily.
I'd like to end this with a quick note to say Thank-you to everyone who messages me, follows me and supports me. Even though I haven't been available to commit fully to this side of my life for a while, I'm hoping that 2016 will be a year of change, positivity and light for, not just myself and my family, but for everyone. So thanks for sticking with me. 😁 It's time to kick this up a notch.
