I've been quite busy this month. Early February I went to Praia do Rosa, an awesome beach in the South. On the way we spent the night in Curitiba, where we met with some other friends heading the same way. Actually we managed to gather 15 drunkards for this year's 'carnaval beach trip'. One whole week going to the beach, trying to surf, drinking excellent beer at an exceptionally low cost while blowing my mind in a hammock during never ending barbecues... who could ask for more? And the best of all was that the best punk/hardcore ever recorded emmanated from the SoundSystem! Pogues, Clash, Social Distortion, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Dolls, Stooges and many more...
After this amazing week I made my way home. Same old story: "Summer Hollidays vs. Punk Routine"... Back to band rehearsals, sketching, earning some money and getting ready for my new band's first gig, which by the way is called The Jon Candy. Some of this month's highs and lows: Finding out that my ex-girlfriend is getting married is kind of weird for me... at first it wasn't that weird actually. It got really weird when I foud out that 2 of my exes were getting married (not to each other though
). Not actually a low, but still... The highs were getting some ink done in my left arm (I'm finally finishing my sleeve after a year and a half hiatus) and playing this gig next thursday. And I also got to see some good bands on the past weeks: Canastra and Acabou La Tequila are great local bands and I also got to see Supersonicos! They are from Uruguay and play some insane, mental surf musik. Actually I wish I knew more about Uruguayan bands... from what I've heard (and had the luck to see) they have great bands there. Motossierra and Tormentas make some kickass rock n' roll!
Ok, I think that was kind of a big update, but I don't know when I'll be able to write more, so...
c u all.
