Lets see where to begin. Well I know its a little late but I should share something that I'm am thankful for. For the first time in three years my dad has roof over his head and a job. He has been on and off the streets since Oct '03. When I moved to Nevada, he was back out on the streets. Last I heard he was living under a tree off the freeway. He went to talk to his former employer (where he worked for 20+ years) and asked for a job. The lead discussed it with the owner and the owner did something really shocking. Sent a couple of guys to pick up my dad, put him in a hotel free of charge, bought him food and gave him 200 bucks cash. He is in the hotel until Dec 4th when he moves into an apartment owned by the company where he will stay for two months for free then they turn it over to him once his gets up on his feet. That's some of the best news I have heard in a while. I never thought I would see this.
I'm sending some of his stuff back to him, but I'm also including some tools for him since he lost everything. He doesn't know about it. I'm sure it will be a nice early Christmas present.
In other news I'm still not to happy with the shop out here. I'm just putting up with it for now but hopefully after the union goes through in San Diego I can move back.
I have been doing more welding in hopes of getting a side business. I wanted to take some classes at the Jr. college here but I'm not considered a resident so its over 100 bucks per credit. I'll keep looking to see if I can find somewhere else that offers classes.
