OK, so I've really got to stop caring about politics. I got a shitty night's sleep last night because every time I fell asleep I was dreaming that I was trying to convince someone that the poll numbers showing that Bush got a bump after his shitty performance at the press conference, were soft and really didn't mean anything. 
Thanks for the link, very interesting (if not altogether surprising.) The budget is just getting more and more absurd. All those zeros at the end... and yet there's no funding available for the biomedical research that I do. My professor said that every time she sees one of those tomahawk missiles used (they're about 2 million a pop) she thinks "there goes 4 more grants."
