Sturm und Drang!
In case you haven't heard, weather doesn't fuck around in Texas.
Recently, your humble scribe was treated to a dilly of a storm. Hail stones the size of marbles, slashing wind, lightning, thunder, tree branches flying through the air. No farm houses or green skinned women astride a broom, but I guess that only happens in Kansas.
So plenty of sturm - enough to rate national coverage. And with said sturm, drang. Carports collapsing onto car roofs. Roofs removed from buildings. Etc.
Despite such furious thrashing by Momma Nature, all I could do was gape and snicker with glee. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was loud, vibrant, and mighty. And free, too. I wasn't quite moved to run amok in the storm - but the thought crossed my mind. I probably missed out on that once in a lifetime chance to get struck by lightning and gain super-electric powers, but oh well.
How funny is it that I lived in a city notorious for rain, yet get moved to write about it by a storm in Texas?
I always thought Sturm and Drang would be great names for kids. That, or Phobos and Deimos.
