Why can't days be all good instead of just partially? That's my question for today. I asked Mike, but he wasn't any help. It was just "yeah, i'd like that too." *sigh* Bless them, the men of few words.
I bought a stress reliever today. It's one of those huge squishy balls that have those feeler type things on them. I can punch it, throw it or kick it. The best part? It won't hurt me or anything I hurl it at.
Political art is amazing. I been reading the book Artists In Times of War by Howard Zinn. Every artists out there should go and buy it and read it. The book is essays and speeches the author wrote and the author believes that all artists out there should use their art to express their opinions about the government. I'm starting to do that. I came up with a project for my views.
Last night, I made the mistake of telling Brian about my ideas. He continued to tell me that using my art to express my views was "puss-like" and I'm shoving my opinions down the throats of others. Come on. You have got to be kidding me. If I make a sculpture, painting or write about my views, it is no where written that people have to read it or look at it. If then don't like it, they can simply walk away.
I may not like the leader of our country, but that doesn't mean I won't use the Constitution to my full advantage. Ever heard of Free Speech? Brian was trying to tell me that I would look "like a douche" by exerciding my right to Free Speech through my art. He told me that I should go to a strike, write a speech or start groups to share my views. Sorry, but that doesn't always work and that's not for me. I hate public speaking and even if I did do any of those things to share my views, it doesn't necessarily mean people will listen. At least with art, people will look at it, even if they don't agree because political art is always something that attracts attention.
I showed the drawing of my idea to my sculpture teacher and he liked it. He said I could make the sculpture, even though we probably won't use it in class. Eh, I can deal with that. I came up with an idea, I want to make it. He also said that I could maybe work it into the next project, but he doesn't know what we're going to do next so ... I don't know. I know how I want to do this one, I don't want to have to adapt it to the new guidlines.
Do you know what the best thing is? Walking into a classroom that you think is empty, but finding one of your friends asleep on the tables in the art room. That was great. My friend Evan did that today. He scared the crap out of me when I finally realised he was there. Funny stuff though.
Another great thing is being groped by a friend in a public park. Roger is so transparent. He wants me to go over his house tomorrow to smoke and "have fun" but I can't make it. I feel bad.
Mike has decided to take me hostage all weekend. I guess he misses me not being around. I decided that I didn't want to hang around him for a while, so I basically ignored him for two weeks and now we're talking again. He's coming to kidnap me sometime around 6 tomorrow night and I'll probably stay until Sunday. That should be fun.
I think that's it for now.
Toodles.
