hey kids! so i finally got a real job! i'm gonna be a receptionist at a post-production house. i'm so fucking excited i had to share the news with y'all.
this place is mad chill! they don't care about the piercing, the gauges, or the ink, which is crazy cause i've never had a job where i haven't had to hide these things. one of my bosses is a documentary filmmaker and the other is a former soap opera star and social butterfly who knows everyone in the movie biz. i'm hoping that over the next year i will meet some sick directors and editors that might throw me a bone in the future, perhaps hire me as an assistant editor on one of their films.
i guess in the meantime, i've gotta get some new diggs and my hair did, since i'm gonna be on display for the next year. the only thing i'm a little nervous about is that i'm too quiet. not shy, but just not a total extrovert. hey if anyone has any social advice for someone in my position, i'd be eternally grateful
i'm turning over a new leaf with this one.

As far as the social etiquette, I would simply recommend patient listening, and feel free to chime in with an anecdote or two when you have something to add to the conversation. Never seem too eager to please and hopefully you can adopt a take it as it comes mentality. I wish you all the best
