Today is International Dog Day! Elvis is turning 11 years old this week. I adopted him from the Humane Society 6 years ago. He has such a big, fun personality! I absolutely love him and adore having him in my life. He is spunky, playful and smart. Adorable, obviously. So fluffy, so sweet. This little dog is always making me smile and I am so grateful for him!
Growing up I had a few family dogs, but he is the first dog that is mine all to my self. We have so much fun together! We love to play, adventure and he snuggles with me too when he really feels like it. I respect the space he requires hehe. He is very particular and I don’t mind it all. You can tell he is a very thought out little dog with the things he does and the way he makes decisions. He’ll wait at the back patio door for me to open it so I can let him out to lay out there for as long as he likes, coming and going as he pleases through his dog door. Sometimes I’ll wonder where he is after an hour and I’m like oh there he is. Outside, smellin the air. He cries when I give him hard boiled eggs. Has specific hiding spots around the house and very much decides when he wants love and attention or to not be seen or touched at all. Haha!
When I first rescued him, we had some things to work through. Separation anxiety and things like that. He’s come a very long way though and I’m glad he feels much more comfortable with me. I try to show him all the love in the world as he deserves it and I definitely feel he shows me love back! Elvis is the best dang little buddy I could ever ask for.
He goes by many names : Elvis, Elvi (Elvee), Elvís, Bubbas, Bubs, little dog, my little mans, fluffy dog, fluffy boy.. the list goes on. Hehe.
