Was gifted a ticket to the Mudvayne tour last night as an early birthday present. Hands down one of the best nights I’ve had in a VERY long time! The lineup was Butcher Babies, Nonpoint, Coal Chamber, GWAR and Mudvayne (in that order). I was mainly there for GWAR (third time seeing them live!) but I’m a metal fan no doubt and will always be up for checking out some others.. especially live! I’ve gotta say, for hearing Mudvayne for the first time ever as a live show.. what an experience! Never listened to them before, now they’re one of my favorites. I had no idea how heavy they were and let’s just say things got real filthy by the end of the night despite GWAR not being able to do their usual slimy, bloody show. (Heavily disappointed ☹️) Even wore my white tank as preparation just in case! But alas! It stayed clean other than looking like I had just finished competing in a wet tshirt contest. Let’s just say if you’re not leaving the pit drenched in sweat, you ain’t doin it right. I like to say that one of the main reasons I keep my hair so long is for head banging purposes. As a 5’1, 105 lb woman we’ve got to pick our battles with the moshing and be prepared to be catapulted 10 feet deep into the crowd and land on our ass with the fear of being stomped while a 200 lb stranger is falling with you but hey it happens and is all part of the adrenaline, baby. You get swooped up and twirled back in effortlessly because that’s what we’re all here for! I love to be up close to the front which I was for GWAR (thought I was guna get messy, ugh!) but a lot of times you can find me on the edges of the crowd or chillin around the circle pit because I need the space to fuckin rage and I can’t move this hair like I want to when it’s dozens of people deep around me from every angle, ya dig? My brain was absolutely rattled by the end of it and it was a gnarly fuckin night!
Any concerts you have coming up? Or who was your favorite show? As far as “theatrics” go, I have to say GWAR and Alice Cooper are the best performances for sure. Otherwise, I’ve seen TOO many awesome shows to pick a favorite. I recently just saw Dream Theater in July.. and wanted to see Rebelution this week but I missed out on tickets. Bummer! I don’t have anything coming up soon, though. I’ll have to change that!
I listen to all types of music (not much at all into country or EDM) but classic rock and metal tend to be my favorite genres. Hair bands, disco, reggae rock.. fuckin throw it all at me! I’ll always have a good time. What are your favorite genres?
Let’s talk music!
