Hello babys,
I was thinking that one week from now, Valentine's Day will be celebrated in various places on February 14th. And there was no better theme for a homework blog: What is normal in your country but seems weird to the rest of the world?
Talking to a friend of SG, he mentioned about this date coming up and things about that day. I then told him something that some people don't know and strange, in Brazil we celebrated that date on another day.
-- Brazil
We celebrate Valentine's Day, June 12th. This since 1949 or so. After João Doria, an advertiser, brought the idea of Valentine's Day to Brazil. He started a campaign with the slogan "love is not just kisses".
The idea spread, having a correlation with Valentine's Day, to encourage the exchange of gifts between a couple.
And why the 12th?
Because it is the eve of the Day of Santo Antonio, a Portuguese saint who has a reputation as a "Saint of Marriage"
But in the end these dates are for loved ones.
😘
