I suppose I update a lot when it feels like I want to be reaching out to the world.
I finished reading The Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling yesterday. It's a masterpiece and I'm not exaggerating. The whole essence of that alternate history captured my very being. And to think of all the research involved and the ingenuity of using real historic figures and creating a whole utterly believable fiction around them. Yes, this is what rekindled my love for all things Victorian and Industrial Revolution. What a frightening and equally eye opening time that must have been for the western world. And without it there is no way the US and Canada would ever have been settled like it was. Not to mention a vast number of other things.
The possibilities that this novel explores on the very idea that Babbage's Difference Engine actually worked and profited is extraordinary. Not to mention completely and intrinsically beautiful.
So much adjective, so little time.

Some instant memories of what Vancouver might look like in the wintry months:
the stuff that goes down good
that wise old thing
(funny little pattern made by melting snow. you can see my foot prints as i walked past it, spotted it and instantly turned around.)
i like to time travel, you know
you can't contain it all in a frame no matter how hard you might try

Some things that people often mistake about my appearance:
> I have black hair. Most people expect it to be light brown I don't know why.
This is my natural hair colour:
When my hair is its natural colour everyone thinks it is dyed black. Nope.
> I have green eyes, but they do change depending on the light I'm standing in, so it's understandable that people make the mistake.
> I am 26, not a teenager.
> I'm not a student, although I wish I was.
> I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, although I used to be. I would currently class myself as a non-dairy eating but conscientious meat eater.
> I don't smoke, although I did from ages 13-16.
> I am not loud or outgoing or extroverted in any way. I am super shy and extremely awkward. Lots of people assume that I am because of the way I look.
> I am not a baby eater.
> I smile and laugh quite a lot day to day, but I guess I look grumpy when my face is "relaxed". I think it's because I'm always thinking too much.
