Happy Crimbo!
I thought I should probably make a festive update. My present to you, as it were. Expect lots of photos and videos.
I left almost all my holiday shopping until Friday. But, it's all done now. It's a pretty non-materialistic Christmas for us this year as we're all pretty low on cash. I like it. It's going to be a nice, calm and quiet one compared to the last couple of years. Not too quiet though.
I remember a Christmas, not too many years ago that I spent on my own eating frozen pizza for dinner. Cooked, of course. I went to my family for boxing day gave them all presents only to realise that no-one had thought to get me anything. Not that it's really about that. I adore giving presents. Thinking about those times, though, helps me to understand why they don't keep in touch now. I suppose everyone's lives are their own.
Boy does it make it difficult to explain on my visa applications, though, why I don't know the current address of anyone in my family. And considering I have 5 younger siblings it probably looks a little fishy.
I am really lucky to have a family that has taken me in as their own for the past couple of holidays. I want them to know how much that means to me and the massive difference it's made to my life, so I always spend this time of year trying to come up with the perfect gifts for them in a subtle appreciation for everything they've done that my real family haven't. I am really excited to see them as they open their gifts this year. None of them are magnificent, as I mentioned, but there is a lot of thought behind them and I think it shows. I really get so excited to see the reactions from people when I give them gifts. It's one of my favourite things in the world.
Talking of which I haven't managed to get any of the gifts in the mail for my friends that are oh-so-faraway. I have been so disorganised this past month, hence I only started shopping for presents this week. I hope none of them hold it against me.
Okay, favourite YouTube Christmas videos, number one:
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas.
number two:
Original Frosty the Snowman Cartoon.
Some Photos...
Tomorrow (christmas eve) I fly up to Dawson City in the Yukon armed with a whole bunch of film and a sack of presents. It's going to be so cold and snowy and I'm going to love it. I can't wait.
Another of my Christmas video picks:
12 days of christmas india style
To finish off this extremely festive entry I'm going to leave you with the very English story of Father Christmas (that's what we call "santa"). It's about 25-30 minutes long, so get yourself a nice cup of tea and make yourself comfortable. You won't be disappointed, I promise.
(the person doesn't allow imbeding so you'll have to go to youtube to watch. It's worth it.)

There we are, me dears. Have a good one. In case while up in the wilderness I don't have chance to update again Happy New Year.
