I miss that girl. She's so much fun.
So... I have a billion things to do and I feel like I don't get any time to myself lately. Oh well! All in the name of naked pictures...
Talking of which... in the next 2 months I'll be in the following locations: London / Reading / Brighton / Bristol / Manchester / Leeds / Vancouver, BC... so if you want me to shoot a SG set (or anything else) email me! cherry@suicidegirls.com. So, there's no rest for the wicked. Lots of travelling this year. Mostly thanks to SG. Fun!

Ok, so 20 facts about me (lots of people think this is lame but I actually think it's been really interesting finding out all the things about people on my friends list)... So, here goes:
1. I'm the eldest of six children. I have three sisters and two brothers. I first learnt to change a nappy (diaper to you north american types) when I was nine years old. I was then changing nappies constanty for about four years.
2. I left home when I was fifteen. Technically I was kicked out. Mainly due to the fact that my younger sister (two years younger) would beat me up regularly and my fathers was of dealing with it was to take me out of the equation. She gave me my first black eye two months after my incredibly strict Pentecostal christian mother left the six of us with my easy going aethiest father.
3. I haven't spoken to my mother since I was seventeen (except very briefly two years ago) and I hope it stays that way. I also haven't spoken to my two years younger sister since my grandmother's funeral two years ago... she had a baby boy this year and I haven't seen it. I hope that also stays that way.
4. I don't have a degree or any formal qualification beyond A-Levels (they're the qualifications you receive in the UK after leaving school at eighteen). This is due to the fact that I've never been able to afford to put myself through university. Leaving home at fifteen and having one parent to support six children didn't help with that. Starting my own business and failing miserably to put me into massive debt will also not help. If my finances stay the way they do I will be in debt until I'm 30. I'm hoping then I can put myself through university.
5. As you might have guessed, I've never been to school for photography and I'm completely self taught. I did try to attend a degree course for five months, two years ago. Unfortunately my finances forced me to leave. The only thing I got taught in that time was how to process black and white film and how to create my own black and white prints. I really miss the dark room and the smell of processing chemicals makes me nostalgic for those five months where I thought I might get to live out my dream.
6. Pretty much everything I've tried to do I have taught myself. I read a lot of books and I figure it's just a point of finding the right books to read and getting enough practise. This doesn't mean I wouldn't kill to go to university and go through a photography art degree. It's my dream to be able to learn properly one day.
7. Some of you may remember I used to play bass in a band. This was also self taught. We self released one album that I co-produced and co-wrote and I also created the art-work for that album. I miss being on stage but I'm glad to be rid of the band politics and the music scene in general.
8. I also taught myself how to use several graphics programs including Photoshop. I now make an alright living freelance editing photos. Although I think I'm pretty competant and people tell me I am "amazing" I am my own worst critic and believe I'll always have something new to learn.
9. I like to think that most people have one of two types of thinking pattern: mathematical and creative. This isn't to say those people will only be good at either mathematical skills or creative skills, quite the opposite. Let me elaborate: I think I naturally have a mathematical mind. I find most things regarding numbers, language or science quite easy to grasp (yes, I put language there - I'm talking the technical side, not the creative... I'll get onto that). However, because of this I find it quite unsatisfying.
Due to this I've always persued the creative things in the world even though I find it quite difficult and always a challenge. Also, I've found on several occassions that most creative ambitions are not for me*. I think this is why I have finally settled on photography - it's firstly technical and scientific and yet also challengingly creative.
*10. I once thought I could paint/write/design clothes/play and write music, among other things (all at different times). With every one I one day woke up and realised I was actually not cut out for those things and I was actually quite rubbish. I still wait for that day with photography. I get close to thinking this regularly, but something is keeping me thinking I might actually be able to do this one.
11. Several people have told me I'm a negative person. This is true to a certain extent. I consistently see the worst in every situation, and I always read the wrong things into what people say.
However, I can generally be pretty optimistic about things when I am thinking straight... I think this is the Sagittarius in me.
12. I'm an incredibly anxious and nervous person and meeting new people (and even people I've already met sometimes) makes me want to be sick. I'm also very shy. Often to get around this when I meet someone I talk too much to compensate. Afterwards I feel guilty for it. I'm completely socially inept, and because of this I have no friends outside of SG. Really. I lost most of my "real life" "friends" when I cut the umbilical cord with the music scene.
13. I think 98% of people in the world are arseholes. However, I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt until they do something to prove themselves an arsehole. On occassion I've gotten it wrong; both ways.
14. Music is my medicine. It keeps me alive.
15. I was once engaged to someone. It was both A Mistake and by mistake.
16. Several times I have thought I'm gay. I think this is true to a certain extent. Boys just don't really do anything for me, sexually. Except for one. He's the only one who's ever turned me on as much as a girl could and I honestly think he may be the only one that ever could. He knows who he is.
17. ...nearing the end now. I adore horror films. Especially anything from Japan or Korea. Their aesthetic is really incredibly pleasing to me. It makes me hot.
18. I'm very self critical (who isn't). You can probably tell from some of the things I've said already. I always take any negative criticism completely to heart. I worry about what other people think of me too much.
19. I wish I could dress up like a doll every day.
20. I have an incredibly sweet tooth. I automatically love anyone who gives me candy. This has gotten me into trouble on a few occassions. Heh.
Wow. That was long, very boring and far more open than I intended to be. I told you I talk a lot to compensate.
