Lack of updates recently is due to a horrible illness.
Well, not that horrible. I had been feeling crummy for a week and a half or so, and Friday I assumed I had a hangover and that's why I felt bad (Thrusday I was crazy, y'all - CRAZY). However, when I didn't feel much better Saturday and Sunday, and I felt totally awful yesterday and today (I probably slept almost constant since 4:30pm yesterday), I decided to go to Health Services on campus to see if I had some sort of disease. I found out that I was running a fever of 100.9 (which is EXTREMELY high for me, I usually run about 97.2 or so), and that my tonsils were swollen and had pus all over them, which is way gross.
That's right, folks - Tina has strep throat.
The awesome, wonderful nurse practitioner (I have decided that I like NPs WAY better than MDs) loaded me up with drugs - Pennicillin, ibuprofrin, sudafed and claritin (because my nose looked like an "allergy nose"). That whole trip to Health Services(including the drugs) only cost me 23 bucks - AND they put it on my student account. This is really a blessing because I have no insurance.
And after one round of everything but the claritin (which I'm supposed to take in the mornings) I feel MUCH better.
Which is great, because I leave for Austin to visit my sweetie Thursday night, and I was really worried I was going to be sick the whole time I was there. But the NP said I should feel better by the end of the week.
Another thing - I'm FLYING to Austin, guys. I've only been on a plane once before, and I was so small I don't remember it. I am so scared. Can I knit on the plane? I would think so, but these days...I'm not so sure.

I had strep throat really bad once. It was so bad that I had to be rushed to the hospital to have a tube put in my throat so I could breathe. I'm sorry you feel bad, I know what its like. Have fun in Austin, and planes aren't as vad as everyone makes them out to be, I flew from Houston to Berlin, I slept the whole way, but turbulence is a bitch!
