So tonight I was in Tim Horton's and saw one of the local people here, who's fairly well known in my region (I live just outside vancouver). He's schizophrenic, and I see him every now and then, and he always just makes me think. I've seen him on several other occasions doing some strange things. Once blocking the door to a corner store, getting into a fight with someone who wasn't really there, even shoving 'him' out of the way. Tonight, I walked into Tim Horton's to see him there sitting with two meals - having a conversation with someone sitting across the table.
I'm always just very curious to know what they're seeing and hearing, what's in their world? I saw a woman the other day in a fast food restaraunt, sitting with two mugs of coffee, talking her jaw off. She was also clapping periodically throughout my stay there. Like half of the population here, she was East Indian, speaking punjabi, so for the time that I was near her, I couldn't understand a word she was saying, although she seemed to be very happy. Laughing, clapping, talking to someone being projected directly out of her mind.
I also always just have to have the little thought that maybe this could be the case for myself. How would I know? I don't think I'm the only one who's had that little thought peek at them. Scizophrenia is close to a lot of people, but often becomes aggravated due to drug use, which I've never really endulged greatly any kind of drug.
I also have to wonder what else is possible in these people's minds. Seeing people that aren't there, objects, what else?
Anyways, if anyone else knows anything about this or has had any experiences or witnessed anything strange, feel free to comment! I'm very interested.
