So, my life has come to the point where i am officially half a century old! The big five oh, 50! It’s been an interesting journey full of ups and downs as with most of us. Life would truly be boring if it wasn’t a rollercoaster of emotions. I am from a forces family though could never serve fir health reasons.
my father pictured and yes, that’s a very young Cheffers, served in the Royal Navy. For many years, upon leaving moved to civvy life and spent the next 27 years preserving human life in the Fire Brigade. He raised us right in my eyes. Being Asthmatic all my life meant I couldn’t follow suit as too high risk. My brothers however did, one went the navy route and the other still serves in the RAF.
life threw me the odd curve ball and I have had a few close calls with illnesses over the years mostly chest related. But I made it to adulthood and the path I chose was that of Chef, hence the name.... Cheffers
this one even made it to the glossy magazines, well the Holiday Brochures for Warners lol.
I did my bit for world repopulation and have a son of 28 and sadly lost his little sister to reasons unforseen... still born at full term.
following a varied career cooking for the lowly to the priveleged including premiere league footballers, comedians, singers and sports stars, a very colourful life.
I now sit here after a long career in my own pub, times are tough on lockdown though as being self employed means no customers = no income. But life has taught me this, go through life with a smile on your face because nobody remembers the miserable buggers! It’s why you will see from my page that I like a joke, i like to dress up and I love to make at least one person a day smile
to today, so i sit here in my shirt with the thought that maybe when this is all over we can all have a party! But then again.... social distancing will put paid to that! So it’s a happy chef type birthday for me sat in my Hawaii five ohhh shirt and police shades 😎
Please stay safe everyone
