A big thanks to @redkaya for tagging me in her post so here goes..... I really must say that there is no place like home... for me I think of home as a small town in the south east of England famous for a little bit of a scuffle back in 1066. The battle of Hastings was a little before my time but the town of Battle is where I grew up ( if us men ever really do grow up that is).
This is Battle Abbey in winter and in spring, it was built upon the supposed battle ground and is a beautiful building full of history. For this reason alone I don’t travel abroad much, there is so much beauty close to home. Growing up in a small town is difficult at times when everyone knows everything about everyone, but I wouldn’t have changed it for anything. I grew up in a culture of openness and as towns people we are proud of our heritage. There are many festivals throughout the year worth attending but the biggest by far are the bonfire celebrations in November when everyone dresses up and has fun. Just ask the SG girls that live nearby. As a result I still like dressing up or cos play to this day.
As for my current happy place.... I have just taken on my first pub after all these years of working for others. It’s a beautiful pub in an idyllic location and I hope we have many many nights of fun and dressing up to come. Oh and @redkaya if you are ever in the uk don’t forget to pop in for a drink... lol x
As for taking up the challenge... @slitchi @douie @blaizee @karanlit would love to see your happy places.
