well today I cooked for Taj Mahal trio and evidently eleven other people. I was too busy to get to drop it off myself. The chick that took it over was the one that thought it was an India Indian party. As she was leaving he hopped on the elevator with her and complimented her on her lipstick (that she wasn't wearing) and the way she had "fancied up " the dessert tray. I told her she had officially been hit in by a famous person. She thought it was hilarious. It went really well though I guess because the venue called when it was over wanting to set up a house charge account to do more of them. They are not parties you make money on but they are cool to do.
Today I also came home to find my new work shoes. They came pretty fast and are super comfortable. I am glad to have them as I have been sliding around the kitchen all week since I retired my other ones. It will be interesting to see how they hold up. The last brand I had lasted about a year at this job. At other jobs they had lasted two years each and I think I was on my third pair.
I get in ruts a lot and it is good for me to change things up. For instance, yesterday I changed the cd in my car. I put that cd in the first week of September. That is bad even for me. I knew it was time because I turned it down at the bank window and didn't turn it up for three days. I know that in this time of tech and wireless it seem inconceivable but yep. I left Black Keys Thickness in there so long my daughters knew and would sing the words to every song(not always, or even often ,the right words). They made fun of it but when the wife took them out of state in my car, two CDs in to the trip they asked her to put it back in. I once left a Ben Harper in so long I actually got depressed listening to oppression over and over. I once played the same Bob Marley so long a guy I gave a ride to work snapped one day " mother fucker don't you own another tape? Three months, every day "400years 400years" I know it's been 400years and that shit is depressing!" When I moved his arm off the arm rest on the console and showed him all the other music right there under his arm I thought he was going to have a stroke. I told him that he could pick what ever he wanted and change it anytime. Amazingly he still rode with me til we quit that job and he was in charge of the radio.
Anyway that was a ramble. I will be off to purve while I wait for the wife and enjoy my awesome chefs dinner of frozen white castles and Girl Scout cookies. Be well SG.
