Ugh today was short at work but retarded.
The trustee came to bitch at the old lady who is my boss about some bullshit and was enough of an ass that he made her cry. There is no crying in the kitchen. Then she told him she didn't know what she could do to make them happy and maybe she should quit. Then he said that that would probably make them happy. She didn't quit. The guy wasn't wrong, they want her to retire, but he was an asshole. I know that's true because every time I have a meeting with the trustees and she isn't there that is all they talk about, when is she going to quit or retire and how they want to expand my role and pay me more. I don't want that chicks job at all. What they fail to understand is that I live in a town that is top three in the country restaurants per capita and I only leave town to work there because it is the perfect set up for me. Low volume, lots of special creation and menu planning, very little paper work, very few meetings, skeleton staff so I get to cook all the time and once the food part is done I go home. Not to mention that now that we have adjusted to the pay cut I took to go there I can leave for even money and be fine and it won't be hard to make that in town.
Who comes around at xmas time and makes old ladies cry? Honestly! Then of course he comes to me all sweet and shaking my hand merry christmas and what not while she is standing there crying in the salad dressings. Fuck off d bag. I of course was oblivious to the whole drama til the end. I just saw her walk off looking teary when he left. She told me the whole deal later on. There is always work drama no matter what you do I suppose.
Here's a little Tex Ritter for your ass.
