So. I haven't been able to spend much time online this week. I may never come to the end of my SG list, so many blogs and sets. I don't know how people with 2000 friends can ever keep up with that shit.
Thanksgiving. The night before Thanksgiving my oven stopped working which is why I am sitting at home doing this and waiting for the guy to come fix it. Luckily we were going to my mom's to eat and her oven worked just fine. We had the usual whatnot (I only had to make gravy and asparagus) and came home with a lot of left overs. My mom's dad came up on the train. He had a good time, for him, and he enjoyed being around the girls. He is super bummed and lonely now that my grandmother has passed so any escape is good for him and he is a lot easier to be around lately. My mom has a boyfriend now that she will not let me meet. I half expected him to show up to Thanksgiving as kind of an icebreaker meeting but he was out of town. He is taking her to Disney/universal in December for a week. I would like to have met him before then so that if I have to track him down I know what he looks like.
Spent a lot of time with the girls this week. Yesterday we went swimming at the place and they were so exhausted when we got home that they both passed out and the wife and I enjoyed a little pre dinner siesta. They have been playing a lot of Wii here lately. I am not a gamer, the last game I was good at was Battle Arena Toshinden for SEGA CD and that was only so that once I beat everyone in the room I could go back to watching fucking TV which is what I wanted to do. Any way, the Wii, the girls(wife included) have become obsessed with playing Frisbee Golf on the Wii. I suck at it but so do they and so we are excited if our score has a name not if we make par. If you get a hole in one or a birdie or par it says that in an excited voice "Nice Birdie!" and that is cool but I never get to hear that. I want the celebratory voice over for all the stupid golf named out comes. So now I have to do them myself "Double Bogey!" has such a ring to it and is so much cooler sounding than +3 or give up. As intuitive as the Wii is, it should know that when you are terrible at the game that a Double Bogey is pretty good for you and give you the excited voice over. Small things I suppose.
The three nights of dinner theater went fine. This coming week and next are super busy. Next week I have three days of madrigals with high school girls for servers. That is always nerve racking because they are not servers and they are wearing costumes and goofy shoes not to mention it is five courses served in the dark. At least there are always thirty of them so they don't have to carry much at a time.
Well I am going to get some lunch. Have fun SG.
