I kinda just want to replace that last "profound" Willamette Week article, since Stiles so handily tore holes in its premise, and I thank him for knowing the hard facts behind the details and reinforcing the common-sense-suppositions one might have that the article was misleading.
Aaaand... I went to brokenbeatnik's birthday last night. I drank vodkas and not much else; sorry if I seemed a bit dull to anyone. I did feel a bit dull.... as I have, in general, lately, hence the not-much-updating. I'll try to be superkool, lively, and fascinating to anyone who wants to hang out, though... so, please don't be scared off, SuperFlashGo and other locals.
I've been enjoying more Elvis Costello CDs (well, some Goodbye, Cruel World and Get Happy!!! stuff, anyway; Trust was surprisingly crap) and some videos; got his video comp (minus the booklet, damn it) and Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock DVDs from the library. Funn footage of Elvis getting soaked/ playing in a bright pink suit at some rainy German festival on the former; unbelievably-soulful guitar work on the latter... also, I love Hendrix's voice. One of the Top Underrated Vocalists Of All Time Evoar, in my estimation, I guess cuz he was such a great guitarist that people put him in "Ace Guitarist" category and neglect the rest of the package.
I don't mean to prattle on; I'm sure you all have decided already whether you like Elvis C or Jimi.
Uhh... I was gonna sell my couch but both customers have turned out to be uninterested. I'm disappointed and frankly would like to go get high as hell right now to forget the minor disappointment, as well as to just... get high as hell. It's too early to drink, ya know.
I hope we all see now why I've been quiet lately.
I will be INTERESTING someday, but this afternoon isn't that shining moment. Perhaps I need to go see -that movie- to enjoy my afternoon. You know- snakes, aircraft, expletives from Mr. Jackson....

I feel really cut off from my friends lately.
