The benefit show Friday went well; for some weird reason my legs were really crampy (my advice is to never squat when you don't have a chair; just sit on the dirty floor... and I was goin up n down stairs a lot) but things were good otherwise. I liked Scout Niblett's playing, and well would like to see the other folks play live again, We Quit and Swallows. Scout's style is vaguely Cobain-ish, I guess, maybe PJ Harveyish, although maybe my descriptions sugggk. Her MySpace and also 3 free MP3s. She plays solo guitar and sometimes drums, for you self-sufficiency fans. The other bands were more chaotic-noisy two-pieces.
The Wonderland party arranged by Elena was a really nice time, good sunny afternoon we're-on-the-lawn stuff. Croquet, cookout, kids runnin round from eatin lots of pastry and Flavor-Ice. Maximum relaxing, I believe EPMD called it.
We're lookin at a couple 100 degree days here in Portland. Perhaps this is why I am soporific and writing a bland description of the past couple days, but like all hang-outs and chill-outs, ya had to be there.

It's always amazed me how people in some cultures squat all the time. And it's no big deal to them. They don't use chairs. Just really cool to me how comfortable they seem to be, squatting. Kinda makes me jealous.
Liked some of that Scout Niblett.
