I've spoken to someone I know that has done showings of her own in the past (she's a painter), and it's really about finding a place to set up and sending out invitations and so forth.

On the one hand, a showing might be a good way to get some constructive criticism and generate some interest in my work...but on the other hand, it might be a total flop and make me feel like a total idiot. I just don't know.
