I haven't written in this in forever because I haven't had the internet. It was unexpected, otherwise I would have said something!
Anyway, I am at American University in Washington DC. I just got here a few days ago and just got the internet working the night before last. I am really excited, but am probably more nervous. It's harder than I thought it would be to not know anyone. I miss my boyfriend a lot, too! Every time I see a couple I get all sad and pathetic. I was living with him when I left, so I am having a hard time sleeping without him... Okay enough of the stupid little complaints!
I already found a job as a waitress at a place called Captiol City Brewing Company. It is right on Capitol Hill. The mananger says it gets insanely busy; I am hoping that means TIPS! I need tips in order to survive here. Other than housing, it really isn't that much more expensive here. I don't know why everyone on the west coast (or in Portland, whatever) says it is more. It's not bad at all. I am living in the dorm, so I don't have to worry about housing costs, but housing is definitely more. Next year I m sure I will live off campus. I don't know how long I can handle this communal living... I like my privacy! Everything else is maybe MAYBE 10 cents more. It isn't bad. I start work and school in exactly a week. It should be really exciting! This is so much different than my life in Portland! I'm glad; I was ready for change. If only I had friends and my boyfriend here it would be perfect.
I added pictures, so you should check them out!
I don't think I have anything to say and I am kind of skeptical that anyone will read this, but if you do, you rock!

I know what it's like to move to a new place too!
I heard Portland's very beautifull! You must miss it a lot!
Sure you'll fit in nice and snug soon!
