hey, hey, hey now, c'mon now, you're better than that; you're better than him and you have your whole awesome future to work with. Being heartbroken is a fact of life, it happens to all of us if we love others, but still, 'tis better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all, right?

D.C. can be poison for a mere mortal; I know, I've been there, and much as I loved DuPont Circle on 9/11/01, I'm glad I'm not there now. Time to get yourself home, my friend, and roost among your loved ones. Give yourself some credit for what you've lived through; and prepare yourself for a whole new next stage of life; it's going to be great!

Charlize, thanks for writing, and I'm really glad the bf will be there for you. Sounds to me like you've got enough good reasons to go now, rather than wait til the 23rd, but you know the downsides better than anyone else. My only suggestion is that you make your decision after you get some sleep. And for what it's worth, I'm glad I wasn't at the restaurant when the asshole showed up; we don't need a new criminal arrest record now, do we, and chances are the creep needs a major attitude adjustment. . . . I'd be likely to use up all the good kharma I've squirreled away, and then some, just trying to enlighten the guy.

When you go, I suspect you'll have priorties other than SG to keep you occupied, so if we don't hear from you, know you're going with our best wishes, hugs and kisses. But drop us a line now and then, if you can; we'll all want to know how things turn out.
