Monday(13th) I made personal plans for this now coming weekend. and the that afternoon at 3:00 my manager calls and says that I'll be flying to another province for a client project the next morning.
I was like, R U Serious? how's that for short notice? so I told him I already have plans, for this weekend, can I come back home then. He's like NO, you dont come back until the project is done.
So now Im already pissed off, But I call the project manager and ask her if I can come home the weekend, he says, as long as everything works by the weekend, its fine, but she cant gaurantee me a flight because its an unscheduled expense. At this point I was willing to pay my own flight.
So I checked the flights and the only available was friday morning, so I took it, They can give me 1 day off, for all the slave hours Ive worked for them.
So this caused a major fight, because I cant just decide to take leave on this critical point of a project.
So now I actually had 3 days to finish the work, so I worked like 20 hours a day, excluding sleep and lunch.
To get the stuff done in time, which I did, but now im spent
No this PM woman calls again and asks how the project is going, I said my stuff is done, but im sure aboiut the other people's components. She the goes on to complain to me why the others work isnt done, why is that my problem?
and that I wasn't supposed to leave unless everything was working, what am I gonna do, cheers on the other developers? GO GO GO, let me just get my Pom-Poms
These people have realize that you cant treat your employees like slaves, work them to the bones, shout and scream at them and expect to still give their all. Think Again
I have applied for a position at Discovery Health and it looks Really Promising, I hope I get it
