Dominic Caluroso was born in the city of Whitegate to the name Rohan Preston. His father was an officer in the Trillium army by the name of Stephan Preston. His mother was a very beautiful thespian named Victoria Steele.
Much of Rohans youth was spent at his mothers side due to the war with The Consolidated Regions of Tesh. He and his mother traveled in a theater company she was a star in known as The Dragon Cometh. He saw very little of his father growing up due to his command responsibilities in the army, despite their being apart they always remained close.
Rohan was always charismatic and made friends easily. He idolized his mothers acting and would mimic her by taking on different personas for every new town she performed in. As he became older this ability became like second nature to him.
Even though he admired his mothers profession his fathers seriousness left the impression that what she did was more like a hobby than anything that should be taken seriously. Despite their conflicting careers Rohan combined what he learned from both of them to create his own unique style of mind games.
As Rohan grew older he yearned, like most children, to go out on his own. When he turned 18 years of age he informed his parents that when the acting troupe performed in Kingbridge he would be staying.
To his surprise his parents did not protest but were in favor of him starting his own life. His father thought that being on his own would be just what he needed to grow up and learn some responsibility. His mother looked at it as an opportunity for him to experience all that life had to offer on his own. As her stay in Kingbridge ended he and his mother shared a heartfelt goodbye. She left him advice that he follows to this very day, Look at the world with the eyes of a child, for those are the only eyes that truly see without any reservation.
With only enough money to last him a few days Rohan took work as a city guardsmen. He knew within days of starting that he needed more excitement than the domestic disturbances and drunkards that came with guard duty. This would all change one night after his shift at a bar called The Lighthouse.
It was on this night that he got caught up in a party being thrown by a young man named Victor Avant. The man said that they were celebrating his promotion at work. He said he was the youngest to ever ascend to his level.
Rohan and Victor quickly became best of friends. They lived in a well-furnished apartment and loved the nightlife. It was often that they each would take home a different girl (or girls) every night of the week.
Rohan began to work for Victor in the local crime syndicate running cons and casing houses. They were a perfect team, Victors shadowy arts of burglary were superior to Rohans but his ability to change personas was chameleon-like. In combat they were evenly matched, confident and deadly if not taken seriously. Their lives were inseparable for around three years. This was all going to change.
The duo had decided to rob a wealthy merchant by the name of Douvrir. He was an eccentric and wealthy man who was well known to keep his fortune in his large manor. This building was built to his unique specifications and was widely considered to be impossible to infiltrate. The two youths decided that it would become their crowning achievement and would solidify them as ranking members in the sydicate.
Instead of going about with their normal approach of case and rob they decided to do this a little more cautiously. Rohan took on a persona he called Allen Bradley, a softhearted cook at a local restaurant that was determined to sweep the merchants beautiful daughter her feet.
Her name was Nicolette Douvrir and was everything any man would want in a woman, smart, playful, intelligent, and very beautiful, much like Rohans mother. He took his time and easily won her over, but courted her for many months before he could even roam the manor freely. Her father was so fond of Rohan that he taught him how to be a locksmith, so that he had a career of his own.
In truth Rohan had very much fallen in love with her and was not sure if he could go through with the heist any longer. Nearly a year went by until Victor convinced him to go ahead with the plan. Victor was never told of Rohans love of Nicolette. Nor was it even a consideration in Rohan's mind to tell.
They waited until the merchant went on another trip for business before they put their plan into motion.
When the evening arrived everything went exactly as they had planned. Rohan spent the evening with Nicolette. After she had fallen asleep he snuck out of her room and let Victor into the house. They split up and began to loot the house of its valuables. Rohan knew the most prized possessions were in Nicolettes fathers bedroom and quickly headed to the rooms vault. While he was working on the vault Nicolette awakened and went to see where her love had gone off too. She found him in her fathers room and was mortified to see him robbing them. She asked why he was doing this and begged him to explain.
He broke and told her everything, his real name, their plan to rob the manor, about Victor, and about his love for her. He told her that they could run away and get married; they could do anything she wanted after this night as long as they were together. Nicolettes answer never escaped her lips as Victors blade ran her through from behind. In horror Rohan ran to his love, but she was dead before he got there. Then it was Rohans turn to ask why.
Victors responded I knew you loved that little tart and that I could not abide any longer. She was ruining our relationship both on a personal and professional level. Where is the fun in marriage, Rohan? I had to do this for you to make you strong. You have to be strong if you want to stand with me. It could have been ours, but you ruined that with her.
Rohan no longer wanted these things and wasnt interested in Victors motives. He attacked his friend but his grief was too great for him to be any match for the much calmer rogue.
Victor quickly cut him down but did not move in for the kill. Instead he told Rohan to leave Kingbridge and never return. He said he spared him for their friendship and that now that friendship was over. That if he ever saw him again, he would kill him. With a sigh Victor then left the manor with his riches.
After his love was buried, Rohan went into hiding. It was at this time he donned the name Dominic Caluroso. He has since been biding his time for Victor. He is in no hurry for he knows he will find him. Their paths will cross again.
His beloved will be avenged.

ok, where is she? What have you done with her? You're not the butler, but you have the same kind of connections! I speak of the one who rules everything above you.. I've lost track of time and space and the goddesses of destruction.
