School is done bitches! I have decided that I am never going to take six classes in one semester again. Between the classes, my responsibility as the student body VP last year, and my job, I haven't seen much of my friends in the last nine months. I have one month to cut loose and then I'm back to school for eight more weeks. On top of having a successful school year I got a 13,000 dollar scholarship! In the large scheme it's really a drop in the bucket, but still it'll save me almost twenty seven grand by the time I graduate.
I am extremely happy that summer is finally upon us in Minneapolis. I didn't get to be here last summer for it. They say living in the woods is good for the constitution but I didn't feel that last summer when I was slaving away at the taconite mine. I've missed my friends a lot. I intend to make up for that this summer.
I seem to be taking a lot of trips this year. I went Washington DC in March to lobby for higher education funding. I have to say that Rep, Ellison really makes it an easy choice to vote for him. In April I took a trip to Chicago with my oldest friends. In a week and a half I'm going back to Chicago for my buddy's wedding, and then I'm going back to Chicago AGAIN in June for the Soundgarden reunion show with The Mars Volta. That's gonna fucking rock.
Speaking of shows, this year is going to be pretty rocking for that. Aside from seeing Soundgarden and Mars Volta, I've already seen Captured by Robots, .357 String Band, The Devil Makes Three, Drakkar Sauna, The Goddamn Gallows, and Joe Buck. Still to come in the near future is Split Lip Rayfield, Man Man, and Rasputina. This summer is gonna be cooler than I expected.
My optimism is pretty high for a change. That make me happy.
