Wow. It's been forever, huh? SO MUCH has changed since I last posted. The guy I was living with went psycho, so I moved in with my mother and terminated the lease. I currently have a restraining order against him because he's seriously nuts. I moved back out of my mom's a couple months ago, living with my best friend, her 2 great danes, and...

DEATH BY THE SCALE..

The signs were there
The thinning hair
The curious stares
But no one cared

She skips her meals
Forgets how to feel
Overdoses on pills
The hunger kills

Counting calories
Losing body heat
Staying away from meat
Sticking to diet schemes

Breakdown, eat the most
Chocolate chips and cookie dough
Gaining weight, losing hope
Sticks her fingers down her throat

Lose...

You know, I seem to end up at this spot despite how much "progress" I convince myself I've made. Always right here. Exhausted, but can't sleep. Staying up and over-thinking literally everything. Sitting and dwelling on things long done and over with. Obsessing over things I've learned that I cannot change. Wondering if I'll ever step into the middle of this cycle and actually try...

Great poem. Maya Angelou is an awesome lady.

I hope you don't give up and keep taking steps in the right direction. There will continue to be setback after setback, but as long as you keep trying, that's what counts. I know you have people around you that care about you and are there to support you. Let them help. Don't hide your frustrations from them. You are a wonderful person. I wish you realized that.

wow, i actually know where your coming from and i go through it every day. what would help though is to have a defined support system in place for when things get really bad. a core group of people that you know you can count on, it doesnt have to be just friends or just family, it can be a combination of both. other than that a sheer force of will inside you to break that cycle and make things better for yourself because you deserve to be happy.

Mmm, this is my favorite part of the day. Where the sun is going down and it's just light enough outside to see. Coming home from a long day of working and getting to rest my feet. And eating! Mmmm food never tastes as good as it does after a long work day. That has to be a fact. It must!

Well, I've finally got...

I was surprised to see the reaction my set received. I didn't really expect much, but wow, people are truly liking it. Thank you all for your positive and sweet comments, they are really appreciated!

Anyway, here I am sitting in my first apartment on our make-shift couch (which is really just a giant bean bag) sitting in cool air. This is so empowering, finally...

I feel like reading. I just want to sit around and read and be inspired. I want to read a book and find little passages that I could swear I've thought or done or said before. I want to escape real life for a few hours--hide in between paragraphs instead.
Books, along with countless friends, therapists, and songs over the years, have definitely kept me...

I make notes in the margins, always! If not, there are tons and tons of sentences underlined! :]
Yes, the painting is Picaso. One of my favorites by him.
Thank you everyone for the very nice and sweet comments! They are greatly appreciated. :]

It's interesting. I was never the "popular" kid. Hell, I had very little friends growing up let alone being the "popular" one. Nah, my brother and sister (who are both younger, have you) were the popular ones. By my senior year of high school I was mainly known as "Stevie's Sister" or "Julie's Sister." I just never really fit in anywhere. I think that's why...

Everyone's life does (revolve around hope, I mean). And there are dozens, hundreds, thousands of stories of fantastically popular people who were ignored or even unpopular in school (oftentimes rock musicians, actors and models). The only problem with all that, I guess, is when people become popular because of how they look, for example, as opposed to who they are. Popularity contests based on looks (beauty pageants anyone?) are not necessarily the most personally fulfilling things, I suspect (of course, I don't actually know, never having been in one!).

But this is a good place to be popular. Of course there is a premium on looks and from your profile pic you look much, much better than fine, but there are a lot of women (and men) here who are not only beautiful but fascinating and bright and immensely enjoyable to get to know. I'll bet you'll fall into that category very easily and I'm hoping to get to know you as time goes on. Welcome to SG.

This is a funny place like that. There's a certain freedom to it.
I hope you get that which you hope for... not just around here. smile
