So explain something to me as I don't think I will ever understand it.
What is the human inability (in some assholes, not all people) to wrap their tiny little brains around the fact that animals feel pain too?
We watched this show tonight on Animal Planet that really, really upset me. There was a small female crocodile that had been enclosed in a very tiny habitat and the handlers allowed people to throw bottles at her, throw fecal matter at her and taunt her. They stopped feeding her at some point, allowed the water level to evaporate to the point that she couldn't fully submerge and never allowed a vet visit.
The people on this show came in, got her out, took her to the ocean to clean her wounds with salt water, get her checked by a vet and moved to a facility that would care for her.
In the end it was a wonderful thing they did and that animal will be able to heal and live a long, well taken care of life.
But, I'm horriblly angry now. Who, with any heart or soul could EVER, EVER treat an animal with such disregard? Why would you keep an animal simply to destroy it?
If they assume that this animal can't speak so it must be stupid, do they think a new born baby is stupid for the same reason?
Why would anyone intentionally harm an animal? Explain that to me, as a rational explaination escapes me.
