Wooohooo!
My man Vinokourov won on the champs today. That was just hardcore balls out cycling. I love to see that.
We went rafting on saturday, and it was moderately miserable, what with the wind and the somewhat cool temperatures, but any afternoon spent with Janet and JoyfulDemise in Bikinis can't be a total loss.
Rafting might resume next sunday, though as always weather permitting.
I think I drove past rin at tenth st and memorial today, which reminds me that I want to go do that photo thing for her project.
Recipe:
Parsley and Bacon sauce
Really good with a grilled chciken breast, or with a poached fish, the quantity here is good for one portion.
Mince 2 slices of good bacon, and toss in a small non-stick pan on medium heat. Stir and slowly brown it.
Add 1tbs of minced onion and keep stirring.
Add 3/4 tbs of flour, and stir well, cook the flour for a couple of minutes (don't let it start to brown), then add 2tbs of white wine, and 1/3 cup of chicken stock, stir, bring to a simmer, and simmer for about 5 minutes.
at this point, you need to taste the sauce, there should be no taste of raw flour, if there is, keep simmerring. If you need to add a little stock, do so: It must not get too thick.
As soon as it tastes fully cooked, add 2tbs of fresh minced parsley, salt and pepper, and serve.
mmmmm yummie.

Bacon! Almost anything with bacon is yummy! I say "almost" because I didn't want this to turn into an, "I can think up somthing that would be gross with" contest. I'm sure somebody could. I just don't need to know about it.
