So I had a day off yesterday. I actually did something vaguely interesting with it, too. Holy shit.
Star Wars: Good but not great. Vast improvement over the first two prequels, though.
Kingdom of Heaven: Excellent. Same stuff that made Gladiator great, but different enough that it's not just "Gladiator 2" or something.
Getting bored and walking to Rockville and back within 8 hours (slightly over 20 miles): Great way to waste time, but watch out for blisters. Inspired by the scene in the Fellowship of the Ring where Aragorn tells Pippin that they're going to be walking until nightfall. Followed University to Viers Mill, Viers Mill to Rockville Pike, Rockville Pike to White Flint, got a drink and sat down for a bit then followed mostly the same route back to downtown Silver Spring to go watch movies. Could've gone further, but I think by that point I'd already proven my point, whatever it was (if there was one). Mirages can happen on highways (kept swearing I saw pools of water on the road from a distance, but when I got there they weren't there). Also, running down those long-ass hills on Viers Mill as fast as you can is fun as hell.

i greatly admire someone who spends quality time with themselves. it shows independence and a sense of self that few possess.
